I woke up with swollen eyes, what can I do to take the swelling away?

I went to sleep last night, didnt take off my mascara, which isnt unusual for me, so I think maybe it is irritation causing this, but im not certain. Like I said, i have gone to sleep without taking off my eye makeup quite often and never had this problem. so i wake up this morning and the areas where the bridge of my nose meets the inner corners of my eyes are totally swollen and my eyes are almost shrunk down to half their size! Could this be just irritation from a new mascara, or could it be something else? I have tried icepacks and also a warm compress on the areas this morning, and they arent helping. any suggestions? I cannot go to work this way.

I have heard that a wet tea bag will take the swelling down.

It must be an allergy!

Try to remember if you ate anything different, or were around a cat or feathers or something you aren’t used to. It could also be your new makeup.
