I guess this is stating the obvious, but if there is ever a scenario where you would need to conceal it, that would make it a bit more conducive to not having it on the arm or the wrist, in particular. That being said, I don’t know what the point of putting one behind your ear would be since that would be very difficult to see in just about every scenario. You’d have to have two mirrors if you wanted to see your own tattoo. I think the hip is a pretty good choice, and if you have no issues in terms of needing to ever hide it, the inside of the wrist would be my other choice.
