Health Care Swiss

Health care, if “we” wanted UHC, why not at least model it on Swiss health care and not make up new crap?

Because the Health Care Reform isn’t just about Health Care. Read the bill. The items proposed include:

A government committee who will decide what treatments you can get (in order to eliminate the expense of treatments which have only had success in some candidates, as opposed to those who have had success in most). (p.30)

The issuance of a National ID card which will have real-time access to an individuals tax records and current account information (p. 58)

Real-time access to Americans’ bank accounts, with the ability to instantly and electronically transfer funds from your account. Though they don’t tell you where they will transfer the funds to, incidentally. (p.59)

An income tax of 2.5% on ANY individual who doesn’t have health care that meets the government’s standards. (p.167)

This bill around 1000 pages long. I haven’t made it through all of it yet, but these are the things I find most concerning so far. It’s a stretch to call this health care reform when you are dealing w/ taxes and taxpayer’s financial records, as well as access to Americans’ bank accounts. If “we” really wanted UHC, we WOULD base it on the models of other countries. However, this really isn’t about health care at all. Don’t be fooled.
