Hyperopia Myopia

Hyperopia Myopia
Myopia and hyperopia. Near & far-sightedness?

My left eye is nearsighted and my right eye is farsighted. Is there a name for this condition? My dad and my sister have this condition as well but theirs is less severe than mine and they have it in opposite eyes than my own (so, for them right is near and left is far)

Was wondering how common this is and if there is a name for it? I’ve been researching but can’t find anything

Its called anisometropia or antimetropia- this means both eyes have different prescriptions from each other OR have opposite refractive errors.
I have a similar problem to you- my left eye has normal 20/20 vision while my right eye is shortsighted (20/200) with a -2.00 prescription. Two of my aunties and one friend has similar problems to this. I think only a minority of people have this situation as most people I know have similar powers or prescriptions for both eyes.
